ISB Shared Equipment Core

Overview of Services

Institute for Systems Biology (ISB) maintains specialized equipment as a shared resource for researchers. After completing any necessary training, researchers are able to reserve time on the equipment and self-operate it.

Equipment available through this core includes:

  • ABI 7900 HT rtPCR machine with 96-well Fast Mode block
  • ABI 7900 HT rtPCR machine with 384 well block
  • ABI 7900 HT rtPCR machine with Twister Automation Accessory
  • TLDA (Taqman Low Density Array) PCR Block that runs a microfluidic PCR card. Can be used with either the 96 or 384 well machines.
  • Fluidigm Biomark instrument. A real time PCR system capable of running all of the BioMark chips in either real time or end point read modes. Also has multiplex capability for up to 5 reporter dyes.
  • Tecan Freedom EVO, a robotic liquid handling system for different scales and throughputs. Use of this instrument must be coordinated through core manager as online reservation is not available to general users.
